Prerequisite
Admission to the volunteer fire brigade is subject to the following requirements. You must
- be at least 17 years old (if you are younger, you can join a youth fire brigade),
- have a good physical and mental constitution,
- agree to a longer period of service and
- must not have committed any offences under the Criminal Code (e.g. arson).
Some municipalities have specific requirements. You should therefore enquire with your local fire brigade about the requirements for admission. This also applies to any documents that may be required.

To join the volunteer fire brigade, contact your local fire brigade.

When you join the fire brigade, you will receive in-depth basic training.
You should then take part in regular training events.
Depending on your aptitude and personal wishes, you can also attend additional training courses.
Please note: Admission is on probation for the first 12 months.
