Notify change after application or when receiving citizen's allowance
The job centre must be informed of certain changes in your personal/financial circumstances while you are receiving the citizen's allowance.
Details
Prerequisite
Anyone who receives citizen's allowance must inform the job centre immediately of any changes in their personal and/or financial circumstances.
Changes in personal and/or financial circumstances often also affect the entitlement to Citizen's Allowance. It is therefore important to inform the job centre of any changes as soon as possible. Citizen's allowance recipients are legally obliged to do so. If this obligation is breached, it is possible that the wrong amount of citizen's allowance may have been paid out. The citizen's allowance must then be repaid.
Examples of important changes:
- Relocation
- Another person moves in or out of the flat
- Increase/reduction in rent and heating costs
- Commencement/termination of employment
- Increase/decrease in earned income
- Change in employment relationship

- Admission to an inpatient facility (e.g. nursing home).

The job centre must be informed of the change and the appropriate evidence immediately. The Job Centre can be notified of the change in writing, in person, by telephone or online.
